Minooka man identified as person burned in accident

FLANAGAN, Ill. (MCT) — A 21-year-old Minooka man remained in serious condition Thursday at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood after he was found near a car on fire Tuesday morning near Flanagan.

Westin Dailey was transported to OSF Saint James-John W. Albrecht Center in Pontiac after Livingston County sheriff's deputies found him about 10:15 a.m. and had sustained burns in the accident. He was then transferred to the Loyola Medical Center burn unit.

The accident, which is still under investigation, occurred two miles northwest of Flanagan.

Livingston County Sheriff Martin Merideth said a 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue, registered out of Minooka, was on fire on 200E Road.

In addition to the Livingston County Sheriff's Department and detectives, the Livingston County Arson Task Force, Flanagan Fire/EMS Department, Minonk EMS, Long Point Fire Department and Pana Fire Department also assisted.
