Ronald R. Michalowski

BRAIDWOOD, Ill. — Mr. Ronald R. Michalowski, 68, of Braidwood, Ill., passed away Monday, March 5, 2012, at his home, with his family by his side.

Born April 5, 1943, to the late Walter and Stella (Milewski) Michalowski, Ronald retired from the Carpenter’s Union. He attended Immaculate Conception Church in Braidwood.

Ronald was an active member of many organizations, including the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #241 in Wilmington, Braidwood Seniors, Wilmington Garden Club, Route 66 Road Runners, and the Thunderbird Club. He was an avid golfer and member of the High Point Golf League and the Silver Oaks Golf Course in Braidwood.

His greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, attending car shows, gardening, and music.

Mr. Michalowski was the beloved husband of Barbara “Bobbie” (Drapinski) Michalowski; loving father of Kristen (Howard) Bodzianowski of Lockport, Ill., Ronald Keith (Colleen) Michalowski of Diamond, Ill., and Richard Thomas (Dorell) Michalowski of Plainfield, Ill.; dear step-father of Lauren (Kirk) Herr of Englewood, Fla., and Gail (Jim) Sawyers of Tinley Park, Ill.; cherished “Grampie” of nine grandchildren, Bill Bodzianowski, Nicole Michalowski, Conner Michalowski, Seth Michalowski, Cody Michalowski, Grace Kirk, Jake Kirk, James Sawyers, and Casey Sawyers; and a friend to many.

Funeral services will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Ltd., Braidwood Chapel, at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 10, to Immaculate Conception Church for Catholic Mass at 2 p.m.  The Rev. Show Reddy Allam will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded following Mass.  Inurnment will be private.

The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 9, at the funeral home.
