In my 10 years of being a registered dietitian, I have seen two repetitive themes when it comes to people: everyone is always trying to find the perfect way to eat, and no one is ever truly capable of doing it.
That’s why I subscribe to my own personal theory of "real nutrition."
Real nutrition means finding ways to eat better, but to enjoy it at the same time.
Real nutrition means finding ways to cook for your family in a realistic timeframe and within the family budget.
Real nutrition means feeling like you can eat all the things you want without feeling guilty.
Real nutrition means making realistic and positive changes to your eating habits that will last a lifetime.
Welcome to the Morris Daily Herald’s new nutrition blog, "Real Nutrition!"
My blog will discuss nutrition-related topics including healthy and convenient meal ideas, weight management, current nutrition research and fads, and family health and nutrition. We will also explore some of the healthier choices out there when it comes to shopping and dining out.
I look forward to sharing my thoughts and ideas with you, and I welcome your questions and comments.
