GARDNER, Ill. — Mr. Eldon D. Burger, 73, of Gardner, Ill., formerly of the Dwight-Mazon area, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at Walnut Grove Nursing Home in Morris.
Born Jan. 11, 1939, in Goodfarm Township, Eldon was a son to the late Ellis and Ila (Scott) Burger. He was raised and educated in Goodfarm and Mazon schools.
Eldon enjoyed showing ponies in his younger days and later showed registered sheep and goats. He also enjoyed going to fairs around the state of Illinois. Eldon also like watching old western shows and wrestling.
Survivors include his loving companion, Betty Domagala of Gardner; brothers, Ellis Burger of Gardner, Mervin Burger of Eldorado, Ill., and Donald Burger of Pontiac, Ill.; sister, Mary Lewandowski of Dwight, Ill.; several nieces and nephews; great- and great-great-nieces and nephews; Doris and Ken Olson, who helped him in many ways; and many friends who were there for him through his 12 years of illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; his brother, Lyle Burger; several nieces, nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
No services will be held.
Inurnment will be held at a later date.
