Shirley R. Weidner

Mrs. Robert (Shirley R. Rudow) Weidner, 85, of Morris, Ill., passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, May 28, 2012, in Morris Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 1, from 12:30 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Edward J. Howe, CR, of Immaculate Conception Church officiating at U. C. Davis & Sons Funeral Home Ltd., 301 W. Washington St., Morris. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Born April 3, 1927, in Morris, she was the daughter of Frank and Edith Eich Rudow. She received her education in the Morris schools and graduated from Morris High School with the Class of 1945.

Shirley married Robert A. Weidner on Jan. 8, 1947, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Joliet, Ill. 
With the exception of a short time spent in Cordele, Ga., Shirley resided all her life in Morris.

She was employed by the Grundy County superintendent of schools, Morris Daily Herald, Hynds and Hynds law firm, Attorney John Black and Black & Black law firm. She was an enrolled agent with the Internal Revenue Service and operated her own business, Shirley’s Tax and Bookkeeping Service in Morris. from 1975 until her retirement in 1991.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Morris.

Surviving are her two loving children, Jean (John T.) Bullington of Cordele, Ga., and John (Patricia) Weidner of Morris; one sister, Gretchen E. Johnson of Morris; a sister-in-law, Charlene Noss of Plano, Ill.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step grandchildren & step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on June 17, 2002; a great-granddaughter, Elle Marie Tesdal; one sister, Bernadine Wing; and two brothers, John and Ferdinand Rudow.

Preferred form of remembrance would be memorial gifts in Shirley’s memory to the activity fund at Morris Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.
