Elmwood Park man faces charges for possession of drugs and stolen vehicle

Grundy County deputies arrested an Elmwood Park man after he was found with a vehicle reported as stolen from Franklin Park Wednesday night in Morris.

According to Grundy County Sheriff’s Office records, at about 10:15 p.m., a deputy on patrol near Cemetery Road and S. Tabler Road observed a green Chevy Blazer disobey a stop sign at the intersection at a high rate of speed and continued to speed up after the deputy activated the squad car’s lights.

The driver pulled the vehicle over for a traffic stop about a fourth of a mile down the road. The driver, Sean M. Falcone, 21, could produce an ID but not vehicle registration. When the deputy found the vehicle was reported as stolen, Falcone was taken into custody. He denied having anything illegal in the vehicle.

During an inventory search of the Blazer, the deputy found two small baggies of a white powdery substance suspected to be heroin, three unused hypodermic syring and a used syringe containing a substance believed to be heroin.

Falcone was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic syringe. He was also cited for disobeying a stop sign.
