STANFORD (MCT) — A McLean County woman was killed after the ATV she was riding Sunday night crashed with a minivan in Stanford, and the man driving the ATV was taken to Advocate BroMenn Medical Center.
Information about the man’s condition was not available Monday morinng.
The ATV was traveling south on Blackstone Street in Stanford when it collided with the minivan about 10:15 p.m. Sunday, according the preliminary investigation of the McLean County Sheriff’s Department and McLean County Coroner’s office which are investigating the death.
When emergency personnel arrived near the intersection of Blackstone and West Main streets, they found the man and the woman in an adjacent yard. The man was taken to the hospital and the woman, who appeared to be a passenger of the ATV, became unresponsive during treatment at the scene where she was pronounced dead.
The woman’s name is being withheld while the coroner’s office attempts to notify family members who are traveling. Coroner Beth Kimmerling said she hopes to release the name by late afternoon.
The driver of the minivan was not injured.
McLean County’s Sheriff’s department’s accident investigation team continues investigate. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
