Grundy County deputies arrested a man after he allegedly battered a woman who was taking him to an anger management class.

According to Grundy County Sheriff’s Department records, deputies arrested Robert W. Perry, 45, of Braidwood for domestic battery and violation of an order of protection Tuesday after he allegedly hit the woman he had contacted for a ride to the class in Kankakee on Monday.

She agreed to give him a ride, and en route, near the area of Old Mazon Road and Braceville Road, he allegedly hit her in the throat, briefly choked her and bit her arm while she was driving.

Perry was taken to the Grundy County jail, where he was held pending a bond hearing.
