Morris man charged with DUI after sideswiping vehicle

Morris police arrested a Morris man for impaired driving after he allegedly sideswiped another vehicle in a parking lot Saturday.

At about 1:45 p.m., according to Morris Police Department records, police arrested Walter F. O’Neil, 62, of 211 Ottawa Bend Dr., Apt. 101, at Chase Bank’s parking lot in the 1900 block of N. Division Street.

Police responded to a private property crash at the bank. There, a woman identified as Kimberly A. Guisewhite, 46, of 2304 Ashland Dr., No. 4, told police she was traveling south in the parking lot, stopped for traffic when O’Neil allegedly sideswiped the driver’s side of her 2001 Chevy Cavalier while driving his 1995 Lincoln Town Car.

He was also allegedly driving under the influence, which led police to arrested him on the charge. He was unable to make $300 bond and was held at the Grundy County jail.
