COLUMBIA, S.C. — Mr. Myron Clauson, 74, of Columbia, S.C., formerly of Yorkville, Ill., passed away on Friday, Oct. 5, 2012.
Born June 3, 1938, in Helmar, Ill., Myron was the son of Simon and Mamie (Larson) Clauson.
Mr. Clauson spent his career as a CPA/finance director of chemical corporations and lived in Europe for five years.
He was an avid golfer, snow skier and traveler with a prankster’s sense of humor. He loved crossword puzzles and professional sports of every kind.
Survivors include his children, Tawney Clauson of St. Louis, Mo., Vicki Clauson of San Diego, Calif., and Matthew Clauson of Spartanburg, S.C.; his brothers, Orven (Lois) Clauson of Yorkville and Sherlyn (Violet) Clauson of Davis, Ill.; his sister, Audrey (Dean) Hodney of Yorkville; his sister-in-law, Shirley Clauson of Surprise, Ariz.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Mamie Clauson; his brother, Duane Clauson; and his sister, Reta Clauson.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Pkwy., Yorkville, Ill.
Interment will follow at the Helmar Lutheran Cemetery in Newark, Ill.
Friends may visit from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home in Yorkville, Ill.
