USF makes the grade in two publications

JOLIET, Ill. – After being named a Military Friendly School by G.I. Jobs magazine and a College of Distinction by collegesofdistinction.com, the University of St. Francis has also been ranked in the top tier of Midwest regional universities in U.S. News & World Report’s edition of “Best Colleges” for the ninth consecutive year. It was also named one of the best Midwestern colleges by The Princeton Review.

Rankings were determined by various factors, including freshman retention and graduation rates, class sizes, student to faculty ratios, peer institution assessments, alumni giving rates, programming and more.

Exciting things happening on campus support the rankings. First, a Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence, Marcelo Arze of Bolivia, has joined the university teaching staff. Arze’s presence and impact in the classroom, combined with the launching of an entrepreneurship major, a preparation program for school principals, a 3+1 RN to BSN nursing program with Joliet Junior College, an English language and acculturation program and an intermodal transportation institute is proof that USF is making the grade when it comes to new and competitive academic programming.
