CHANNAHON — Do you have a pile of favorite DVDs, Blu-Rays, video games discs, CDs and computer discs that are scratched too badly to play? Don’t throw them away and buy expensive replacements.

Three Rivers Public Library District in Channahon and Minooka will offer a disc repair service to clean and resurface various types of discs for the public, starting Nov. 1, 2012.

“We are happy to offer this service to our patrons,” said Mary Soucie, Three Rivers Library Director.  “Our library recently purchased a disc resurfacing machine for library use, to keep our audio visual materials in good repair and it was decided that we could easily offer this service to the public, too.”

Three Rivers Library card holders will be able to bring in up to five discs at a time to have them serviced. There will be a small fee of $2 per disc, to offset the cost of staff labor and machine maintenance.

For questions regarding Three Rivers Library’s disc repair service, please contact either library at (815) 467-6200 for the Channahon Main Library or (815) 467-1600 for the Minooka Branch or stop in at either building for details.
