A Woodridge woman was found guilty of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child under 13, a Class 2 felony.
According to court records, on Oct. 1, Ashley B. Kellam, 20, was convicted of the charge, which stems from a March-June 2011 offense of committing a sex act with a male individual under 13.
Kellam was initially indicted on a charge of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, which is a Class X felony, but that was dismissed or superseded by an aggravated criminal sexual abuse charge. The updated description of the charge states Kellam touched the child’s genitals for her sexual gratification.
Kellam was sentenced to four years of probation and ordered to pay $465 for court fees and costs, plus a monthly $20 probation fee. She was also sentenced to serve 180 days at the Grundy County jail, with credit for one day served.
Additional terms of her probation include obtaining an evaluation as a sex offender, having no contact with the victim, having no contact of any kind with a child under the age of 17 and registering as a sex offender.
