It’s time to pay back board members who did us wrong

There are some elected officials in Morris and Grundy County government who don’t understand that their number one-priority is the health and safety of the people.

Why do they insist on putting hundreds of innocent men, women, and children in harms way by expanding the Environtech Landfill? Is it because it’s not at their back door, ignorance, greed, or they just don’t care about their fellow man? Do they care about the children? Do they care about Grundy County’s aquifers, our “drinking water?”

Some of those listed below are not up for election. Remember them when the time comes. Some are running unopposed, if they get only one vote, their own, they will be elected.

Morris aldermen who voted to accept the landfill host agreement are Ken Sereno, Julian Huston, Don Hansen, and Duane Wolfe.

Some Grundy County Board members worked to repeal the county law that stated “no landfill expansion,” therefore opening the door for expansion, and even though the host agreement was turned down by the city of Morris, these board members refuse to reinstate the county law that says “No landfill expansion.”

These board members are Frank Halpin, Richard Joyce, Ann Gill, John Almer, Tom Poole, and John Galloway.

IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR A HUMANE CITY AND COUNTY GOVERNMENT? ALL OF THOSE LISTED ABOVE SHOULD BE REPLACED.
