Morris woman reports hit-and-run accident

A Morris woman reported a hit-and-run crash Monday afternoon.

According to the Morris Police Department report, at about 3:55 p.m., an officer responded to 120 W. Main Street for a hit-and-run crash involving her parked 2007 Toyota Yaris.

A woman told the officer at about 6 a.m. in the morning, she saw her driver’s side mirror bent and corrected it, but didn’t observe a white paint transfer that stretched from the rear driver’s side quarter panel to the front driver’s side quarter panel until the afternoon.

The woman said the vehicle was originally parked south on Wauponsee Street north of Main Street.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the police department at (815) 942-2131.
