(MCT) — Forecasters are predicting another day of unseasonable warmth today, with mostly sunny skies and a high that may inch above 80 degrees.
“It’s really going to feel almost like an early summer day,” said David Beachler, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Romeoville.
The weather service has listed an expected high of 78 degrees, and Beachler said the mercury could even pass 80.
“It’s all going to depend on cloud cover and the amount of moisture in the atmosphere,” he said.
The record high in Chicago for Oct. 24 is 83 degrees.
Typically, high temperatures for this time of year are in the upper 50s or low 60s. Winds carrying warm air from the south are helping to lift temperatures past that this week.
The warm spell is expect to last until a cold front moves in Thursday afternoon.
