The Rockwell Restaurant, a historic Morris restaurant at 2400 West U.S. 6 in Morris, is now under new owners, Ben and Sandy Besiri.

The historic Morris restaurant, The Rockwell Restaurant, is under new ownership. The new owners, Ben and Sandy Besiri, have extensive experience in fine dining — they own a steak house in Fox Lake and an authentic Italian restaurant in Blue Island.

Why did Ben and Sandy purchase the Rockwell?  Sandy said that the Rockwell offers everything people would want in a restaurant — a history of great food, deep roots in the community and simply a beautiful restaurant with deep colored wood on the walls, beautiful marble inlays and a wonderful bar.

Ben said the restaurant would focus on seafood, steak and great Italian dishes, featuring delicious pasta. Ben added they would keep the authentic German cuisine for which the Rockwell is famous.

Ben and Sandy want to focus on their customers, giving them the feeling of going back to a simpler time with great food and an excellent value.  Because of customer requests the Rockwell is again open for lunch. The Besiris have added a Sunday brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

With the peaceful Norman Rockwell prints on the walls, the wonderful food and the great dining experience, the Rockwell draws fans from all over the area. Ben and Sandy are determined to give back to the community and are planning local fundraisers for various causes.

The Rockwell Inn is located at 2400 West U.S. 6 in Morris. It’s open Tuesday through Sunday (and available for private parties on Mondays).  For information, contact the Rockwell Inn at (815) 942-6266.
