Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers has been notified that it is one of 20 organizations across the nation to receive the Healthcare Advisory Board’s 2012 Excellence in Employee Engagement Award.
The award honors U.S. hospitals and health systems that exhibit extraordinary levels of workforce engagement based on results of last year’s employee engagement surveys.
More than 300 hospitals and health systems facilities across the nation were in the running for the awards.

Recipients were selected from the Advisory Board’s healthcare-specific database, comprised of industry-leading hospitals and health systems throughout the nation.
Winners not only demonstrated exceptional levels of engagement among employees, but they also maintained extremely low levels of disengagement.
Morris Hospital conducts the anonymous, voluntary, electronic survey of its employees annually to measure perceptions of Morris Hospital as a place to work.
Last year, 69 percent of employees participated in the survey, with 83 percent of participants answering agree or strongly agree to the statement: “Overall, Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers is an excellent place to work.”
On the last survey, Morris Hospital scored highest for recognizing employees for excellent work, assisting employees who are exploring other jobs within the organization, giving back to the community, and providing excellent care and customer service to patients.

Serving patients in 18 communities, Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers includes the 89-bed Morris Hospital, as well as the Braidwood, Channahon, Dwight, Gardner, Marseilles, Minooka, Morris and Newark Healthcare Centers.
Through the services of over 1,600 healthcare professionals, physicians and volunteers, Morris Hospital provides lifesaving cardiac intervention with angioplasty and stents, a radiation therapy center for cancer patients, a state-of-the-art intensive care unit, a dedicated pediatric unit, and immediate care services at two locations. Morris Hospital is a Level II trauma center and a Level II perinatal care provider with an intermediate care nursery.
