USF recognizes employee achievements

Promotions, awards celebrated at special gathering

JOLIET, Ill. — At a special gathering that honored employee achievements, four University of St. Francis employees were recognized for their recent promotions.

Brien McHugh (Joliet) was promoted to assistant professor in the College of Arts & Sciences, and Lisa White-McNulty (Plainfield) was promoted to professor in the College of Education.

Michael Stowe (Plainfield), who was recently tenured, was promoted to associate professor in the College of Business & Health Administration. He was presented with the Award for Achievement in Scholarship.

Richard Vaughan (Mokena), who was also recently tenured, was promoted to associate professor in the College of Business & Health Administration. He was presented with the Award for Achievement in Service.

Additional awards were bestowed upon individuals who are standouts in the academic arena.

The Student Affairs “Above and Beyond Award” was given to Connie Litwiller (Plainfield), assistant professor in the Leach College of Nursing. 

The Excellence in Teaching Award was presented to Steve Morissette (Joliet), associate professor in the College of Business & Health Administration.

The Franciscan Charism Award was presented to Geri Brent (Joliet), administrative assistant in the Leach College of Nursing.

Finally, the “Innovation Award” was presented to a team of individuals who were instrumental in starting the Masters of Science in Nursing-Nursing Administration program at USF. Honored were Robert Behling (Wheaton), professor in the College of Business and Health Administration; Christopher Clott (Chicago), dean of the College of Business and Health Administration; Michael Stowe; and Carol Wilson (Shorewood), dean of the John and Cecily Leach College of Nursing.

The University of St. Francis in Joliet serves 3,400 students nationwide, offering 48 undergraduate programs, four degree-completion programs and 15 graduate programs, including two doctoral programs.
