COAL CITY, Ill. — Mrs. Anna Marie Corsiatti, 91, of Coal City, Ill., passed away Sunday morning, Nov. 11, 2012, at Walnut Grove in Morris.
Born March 8, 1921, in Milks Grove Township, Iroquois County, Illinois, Anna was a daughter of the late James and Dorthea Gudenrath-Ohrt. She was raised in Limestone Township, Kankakee County. On Aug. 30, 1941, Anna married James Corsiatti in Saint Charles, Mo.
Anna held employment with the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant; Roper Stove Company in Kankakee; and, most recently, Coal City High School, from where she retired as a cook in the cafeteria. She loved playing cards and was involved with various card clubs locally. Anna was a great cook, enjoyed traveling, and will be remembered for her time spent with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Gayle (David) Scanovino of Joliet, Ill.; two grandchildren, Courtney (Randy) Schenck of Wauconda, Ill., and Matthew Scanovino of Joliet; and one great-grandson, Trevor Schenck; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James, on Jan. 31, 1970; one sister, Margaret Dahn; and three brothers, Edward, John and Glenn Ohrt.
Visitationand Video Tribute will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway (one block North of Illinois 113), Coal City. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, in the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Roy Backus officiating. Burial will be in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery, where Anna will be laid to rest with her husband, James.
