The physicians and staff of Rezin Orthopedics and Sports Medicine announced the winners of their 10th annual Medical Scholarships Program.

The two recipients this year are Ariana Wilson of Minooka and Kevin Wendling of Morris.

The medical scholarships were offered in April 2012 to individuals living in Grundy, Kendall, La Salle, Livingston and Will counties who were graduating in the spring of 2012 from high school or who were enrolled in a university or community college.

Eligible applicants were required to be enrolled or planning to enroll in the field of medicine, which includes, but is not limited to, pre-med, physician assistant, physical therapy, occupational therapy, sports medicine, athletic training, medical technician or nursing.

Scholarships will be offered again in April 2013.

Wilson and Wendling were chosen after a very difficult selection process from an exceptional group of more than 70 candidates. They will each be awarded $1,000 to be used to help with the costs associated with their education.

Wilson is a recent graduate of Minooka Community High School and is presently enrolled at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, perusing her passion of becoming an orthopedic surgeon.
