Coal City Fall Clean-Up happening this weekend

COAL CITY — The Village of Coal City is holding its Fall Clean-Up for village residents this weekend.

The clean-up will take place 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. today, Friday, Nov. 16; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17; and 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, Nov. 18. Dumpsters will be located inside the fenced area at the village maintenance building on North Broadway — no curbside service will be available for this year’s fall clean-up. Access is free.

Personnel will be at the maintenance building during the cleanup.

‘White’ goods — anything that heats and cools like refrigerators, washers and dryers, water heaters, air conditioning units — are not allowed in the Dumpsters. Other items that are prohibited include electronic devices, large automotive parts or tires; large quantities of concrete, dirt or stone; yard and landscaping materials.

Toxic products including automotive batteries, oil-base paints, insecticides, oil, and anti-freeze are also not allowed.

Residents interested in electronics recycling may schedule free recycling pickup through Vintage Tech Recyclers by calling (866) 631-1707 or email willcounty@vintagetechrecyclers.com. A drop-off site is also located at the Godley Park District.

The Fall Clean-up service is available for Coal City residents only.
