With a nip in the air, and frost on the ground, can The 3 French Hens Holiday Market be far behind? Join the Hens this Friday and Saturday, Nov. 16 and 17, at the Grundy County Fairgrounds for the 4th annual holiday shopping extravaganza.
This year’s Market promises to be even better, with old favorites returning and several new artisans joining the show. Four buildings will be bustling with everything from home-baked Amish sweets and one-of-a-kind St. Nicks to handcrafted jewelry, antique and repurposed goods, and holiday and home decor.
Renowned southern Illinois folk artist Kathy Pribble will have a complete cast of characters with her one-of-a-kind life-sized snowfolks... many on skates, bikes, and sporting antique accessories.
Blog favorites and cottage-style vendors Jeanine Burkhardt from “Chippy Shabby,” Polly Hood from “Counting Your Bles-sings,” and Jennifer Rizzo will once again bring their great sense of style and one-of-a-kind wares to the fairgrounds.
The Hens encourage shoppers to remember, with one-of-a-kind and handcrafted items, if you see something you like you should not hesitate too long, as those items sell quickly and are usually...well, just that, one-of-a-kind.
Kringles Christmas Tree Farm, from Joliet, will have freshcut trees — including blue spruce, Frasier firs and more — and all the trimmings.
Letty Mae’s Tea Room will be offering dinner and desserts Friday evening, and lunch and sweets on Saturday. The Hens assure there will be plenty of sweets available for those not wanting to bake for Thanksgiving!
Oberweis Dairy will be providing free hot chocolate on Friday night, and Market favorite Stamper Cheese will be selling Saturday only.
To help with purchases, there will be an onsite ATM machine.
The 3 French Hens Market is from 5 to 10 p.m., Friday, Nov. 16, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Grundy County Fairgrounds.
The fairgrounds is located approximately one mile north of Interstate 80, on Illinois 47.
All one need to do is attend the Market to see why “Romantic Country” magazine picked the 3 French Hens as one of the top five markets in the nation.
The Hens encourage shoppers to continue the fun and head into downtown Morris to take advantage of the numerous boutiques, shops, pubs and restaurants the community has to offer!
With Christmas rapidly approaching, this is the perfect weekend to gather up some friends and get in the Holiday spirit.
