(MCT) — A Steger man was killed and two others were injured Sunday morning when a minivan rear-ended a car in the express lanes of the Dan Ryan Expressway near 26th Street in Chicago.
About 4:20 a.m., a northbound 2005 Chrysler Pacifica was stopped in traffic in the Dan Ryan's express lanes near 26th Street, police said.
While stopped, the Chrysler was rear-ended by a 2005 Chevrolet Uplander minivan, causing the Chevrolet to hit the right wall and flip over, police said.
One of the van's occupants, Dennis Moore, 32, of the 3000 block of West 34th Street in south suburban Steger, died later at Stroger Hospital, authorities said. Another occupant was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Police said Sunday they don't know who was driving the van.
The driver of the Chrysler was taken to Stroger with injuries that weren't life threatening.
No charges had been filed as of Sunday night, authorities said.
