Comedy Night looks to stir up laughs

Improv Night returns to River’s Edge Theatre

YORKVILLE, Ill. – An adult man morphs into a teenage girl, a wooden stool becomes a swamp creature and a slew of characters are born before your very eyes during PR Productions “Improv Comedy Night,” returning to the River’s Edge Theatre in Yorkville.

The night of improvised acting, where everything is made up and nothing is scripted, begins at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8. All tickets are $12.

Tickets may be purchased for each performance by clicking on the improv logo at www.wewantpr.com or by calling 630-882-0035. Tickets may also be available at the door, based on availability.

A cash bar is available in the theatre lobby, and will be open before, during and after the performance.
The production is appropriate for all ages.

“We’ve worked hard to preserve a level of quality that the entire family can enjoy,” said Kris Pagoria, co-founder of PR Productions and host of the Improv Comedy Night. “We want moms and dads to be able to bring the kids and enjoy a wholesome show without worrying about content.”

Steering clear of a script, set or any such formal structure, PR Productions will create 90 minutes of completely unique improvised theatre, taking suggestions from the audience.

“We premiered this production in November to a very excited audience,” Pagoria said. “There’s nothing better than rushing onstage, not knowing what characters you’ll be playing, what suggestions you’ll get from the audience, or how the night will end. It’s very exhilarating.”

The group’s Improv Comedy Night will feature six to eight actors and actresses from DeKalb, Somonauk, Plano, Sandwich, Chicago and Yorkville.

“Our improv shows are really an entertainment experience, not just a night of comedy,” said Christopher Roe, co-gounder of PR Productions and one of the featured improv actors. “From our engaging demeanor, to increasingly funny skits, and an audience that is continually laughing. We want our audience leaving in tears, tears from laughing so hard.”
