An Ohio man was stabbed in the leg Tuesday night in a field across from the Morris Chili's restaurant.

Morris police and the Grundy County State's Attorney's office are investigating the incident, but no one had been charged as of early Wednesday afternoon, said Morris Police Chief Brent Dite.

At about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night, officers responded to a report of a stabbing. The victim was interviewed at the scene and gave a description of the alleged suspect's vehicle. The vehicle was located on the 1100 block of Cemetery Road.

A suspect was taken into custody for further investigation and was later released, Dite said. The chief would not release the suspect's name at this time. No charges have been filed.

Morris detectives assisted on scene. They are looking further into evidence and conducting witness interviews, Dite said. No further information was available at this time.
