Gary L. Thorsen

MARSEILLES, Ill. — Mr. Gary L. Thorsen, 61, of Marseilles, Ill., passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at Rivershores Care Center in Marseilles.

Born April 22, 1951, in Ottawa, Ill., Gary was the son of Gordon and Romona (Bartlett) Thorsen.

Gary was an electrician at E.I. duPont and retired from the Exelon La Salle Station in 2002.

Gary raised registered Paint horses for many years. He was a member of the Moose of Morris.

Survivors include his mother, Romona Murdock of Arizona; a step-son, Jeff; his aunt, Regina Nelson of Moline, Ill.; cousins, Lee, Perry, Tim and Dana; his uncle, Tom Duncan of Seneca; and his Godson, Chad Anderson.

He was preceded in death by his father; two uncles, Lee and H.B. Bartlett; one aunt, Thelma Duncan; and Pauline.

Funeral service for Gary will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at the Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home in Seneca.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at the Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Seneca.

Pallbearers will be Denny Thorsen, Lee Bartlett, Terry Martin, Rick Patarozzi, Rick Swartz and Greg Anderson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Bartlett, Perry Bartlett, Keith Martin, Joe Lamb, Dave Hume, Barry Buchanan and Walter Kelly.

Memorials may be directed to Operation Saint Nick of Grundy County, Seneca Food Pantry and Grand Ridge Fire Department.
