Free services are available to job seekers in the Grundy County area.
One of the programs available is “Computer Skills Assessment,” which will be offered from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8. In partnership with the Grundy County Housing Authority, JJC’s Plus 50 Workforce Development program offers computer courses for individuals 50-plus seeking computer skills for employment.
“How to Develop a Resume,” is offered from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9. Participants will be provided with the tools to write an effective resume and cover letter.
“Networking Business Cards” will be offered from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10. Utilize the ‘business card” to provide critical career and contact information to people you meet in social and professional situations.
“Transitioning Young Adults (TYA)” is offered from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10. Listen to employment and training services that are available to youth between the ages of 18 – 21.
