SHOREWOOD, Ill. — Violinist Henrik Karapetyan will perform for residents and the public in the piano lounge at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at The Timbers of Shorewood, 1100 N. River Rd., Shorewood.

Karapetyan, a violinist who has been performing for more than 20 years, will entertain with a combination of classical and folk violin pieces. He will give a narrative of the works before performing them to explain each story to residents.

Originally born in Yeven, Armenia, he tours the Midwest several times a year giving classical music performances in libraries, retirement homes and schools. Karapetyan, a native of Rochester, MI, has performed in several venues such as Carnegie Hall, as well as with the Michigan Opera Theatre in Detroit.

He is currently the violinist of the Amethyst Piano Trio, based in Ann Arbor, and he plays with local folk-gypsy band -- “Orpheum Bell.”
