JOLIET — America’s premier electronic dance music event producer, Insomniac, announces that its Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) add a new festival on the road to EDC Las Vegas with a stop in Chicago during Memorial Day Weekend 2013.

EDC Chicago will be held at the Chicagoland Speedway on May 24, 25 and 26, and tickets to this inaugural event go on sale Jan. 23 at 12 p.m.

EDC Chicago is the latest addition to Insomniac’s roster of Electric Daisy Carnival festivals which includes stops in New York, Puerto Rico, Orlando and Las Vegas.

The carnivals are Insomniac’s largest production both in scale and attendance.

“As Insomniac continues to grow, our first priority is listening to our fans and they’ve made us feel confident that EDC has a home in Chicago,” said Insomniac CEO, Pasquale Rotella.

“This is the first EDC that will offer fans the opportunity to camp while enjoying the festival and I know that the Chicagoland Speedway is the ideal location. I’m really excited we’ve added Chicago to the EDC family of festivals.”

Three-day general admission tickets will initially be priced at $175 with VIP tickets selling at $299 before service fees. A layaway pricing option will be available. A limited allotment of single-day tickets will be available for this three-day experience at a later date. Minimum age for VIP is 21 and older.

Additionally, EDC Chicago will be the first and only EDC festival providing a limited number of fans with the opportunity to enjoy over-night camping directly adjacent to the festival grounds. The camping/festival package, which includes three-day general or VIP admission plus camping pass, will be priced at $295 and $419, respectively.

All fans that purchase the camping/festival option will be permitted to go back and forth between the festival and campgrounds throughout the entire weekend. Campers will be able to start setting up their camps on Thursday, May 23. To access the campgrounds fans must purchase the camping/festival package. Quantities are limited.

Travel packages and hotel deals will also be available at www.electricdaisycarnival.com in the near future.
