(MCT) — CARLINVILLE — A senior at Blackburn College was found dead Saturday afternoon in his residence hall room.
The student has been identified as 24-year-old Josh Ramza of Romeoville, Ill. Macoupin County Chief Deputy Coroner Anthony Kravanya pronounced Ramza dead at 3:20 p.m.
"There were no signs of foul play or any determinative cause, according to the Carlinville Police Department," said Peter Oswald, director of marketing and public relations for the college. "There doesn't seem to be any obvious cause of death, so we're waiting on the result of further investigation."
Ramza's body was discovered after fellow students reported not having seen him as expected.
An autopsy is planned for Monday, Oswald said.
Ramza's family was notified of his death on Saturday.
Blackburn College has approximately 550 students enrolled.
"Given our size, a lot of students are aware of who other people are, so we have counselors available to help them work through their grief," Oswald said. "There are plenty of opportunities for students to reach out for help if they need it."
