Billie Carol Brown

ZEPHRYHILLS, Fla. — Mrs. Robert (Billie Carol) Brown, 76, of Zephryhills, Fla., and formerly of Joliet, Ill., passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, in Gulfside Hospice in Zephryhills, Fla.

Born Nov. 1, 1936 in Christopher, Ill., the daughter of William and Ruth Fagen Bashton, Billie Carol married the love of her life, Robert D. Brown, on Dec. 29, 1956, in Joliet.

She was employed for over 15 years at the Sunny Hill Nursing Home in Joliet, retiring in 1995.

She was an avid Morris Community High School Redskins football fan and she only missed attending two football games in 29 years.

In August of 2009, with her husband, Bob, she moved to Zephryhills, Fla., to make their home.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Morris and the Fellowship Baptist Church in Tampa, Fla.

Surviving is her loving husband of over 56 years, Bob, and their children, Marcia and her husband, Bruce Dickerson Sr., of Minooka, Ill.; Michael Brown, of Tampa, Fla.; Cheryl and her husband, Edward Owen, of Mystic, Iowa; Robert and his wife, Tina, Brown Jr. of Avon, Ind.; William Brown of Morris, Ill.; and Jennifer Middaugh of Zephryhills, Fla.; 22 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-, great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Bety Tomko.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at U. C. Davis & Sons Funeral Home Ltd., 301 W. Washington St., Morris, Ill., where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 25, with the Rev. Steve Larson of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Ill.

Preferred form of remembrance would be memorial gifts in Billie Carol’s memory directed to the First Baptist Church building fund or Gulfside Hospice in Zephryhills, Fla.
