Hildred A. McCarl

MINOOKA — Mrs. Hildred A. McCarl, 77, of Minooka, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013.

Born in Cottonwood, Ill., Hildred was a resident of Minooka for the past 28 years. She was a bookkeeper for Eddie and Frank Coal Company and a retired secretary from Joliet Township High School.

She attended Minooka Bible Church. She was a member of the Stone City Post Ladies Auxiliary and JARTA.

Hildred enjoyed bowling, bingo, reading, going to the boats and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Rhonda (Robert) Paluga of Morris and Dawn (Raymond) Link of Minooka; a son, William G. (Kim) McCarl II of Elwood; three grandchildren, William G. McCarl III, Tyler D. McCarl and Kendra Anne Link; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" G. McCarl, who died in 2009; infant son, Kerry W. McCarl; her parents, Charles and Oneita (Calvin) Paris; and a brother, Bufford Paris.

A special thank you to the staff at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center for the compassion and care given to Hildred during her stay.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road.

Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Elwood.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at the funeral home.

Memorials to Dollars Against Diabetes “DAD” or the Minooka Bible Church is appreciated.

Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road, Joliet, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.
