Harvey A. Hansen

Mr. Harvey A. Hansen, 90, died early Sunday morning, Jan. 27, 2013.

Born Feb. 3, 1922, Harvey was the son of Lars Hansen and Thea (Danielson) Hansen in Morris. Harvey attended Morris schools and graduated from Morris High School.

Harvey served in the Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1946.

Harvey married Shirley Satre in 1951 and had five sons. He worked with Caterpillar Tractor Company for 30 years, retiring early from his position as maintenance manager foreman.

After his retirement, Harvey devoted a good deal of time to his golf, and spent his winters in Florida and Arizona.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife Shirley in 1988; his brothers, Edwin and Sherman; and his youngest son, Lance.

Survivors include his loving companion of many years, Lydia Varas; sons, Brent (Jaye) Hansen of Colorado, Eric Hansen of Wisconsin, Ed (Julie) Hansen of Morris and Monte (Verna) Hansen of Texas; his brother, Leonard (Lois) Hansen; sisters-in-law, Betty Hansen and Elna Siron; six grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

Visitation will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Fruland Funeral Home, 121 West Jefferson St., Morris. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Saratoga Cemetery with military honors provided by the Morris Color Guard.
