SOMONAUK, Ill. — Mr. Gerald L. Scott, 62, of Somonauk, Ill., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, Ill.
Born June 5, 1950, in Chicago, the son of Walter and Helen Scott, Gerald was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Before retiring, he worked at the Federal Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Fort Worth, Texas. He truly enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving are four daughters, Jenny Scott-Poupa of Lockport, Ill., Rachel (Ryan) French of Sandwich, Ill., Jessica (Jason) Diebold of Somonauk, Ill., and Laura Scott of Lisle, Ill.; one son, Derrick Scott of Minooka, Ill.; seven grandchildren, John, Alexandra, Ethan, Addison, Morgan, Avery and Sophie; two sisters, Norma Abraham of Minooka and Sharon (Osias) Dut-Dut of Oswego, Ill.; one brother, Sonny Schultz of Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles and Jim Schultz; and one sister, Joy Schultz.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home, 13160 West U.S. 6, Somonauk, Ill., with the Rev. David Kaul officiating. Burial of his urn will be at a later date.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at the funeral home.
