A Coal City teenager was sentenced to 30 months probation and must pay nearly $20,000 in restitution for a felony theft charge.

Anthony J. Narwick Jr., 18, of 911 Pheasant, learned of his punishment Tuesday, Jan. 29, in Grundy County Circuit Court.

Narwick was convicted of theft, a Class 3 felony, in connection with an incident that occurred between June and July 2012. He was arrested by Coal City police for taking jewelry, with a total value of more than $500, from a female victim.

He was placed on 30 months probation, which expires July 28, 2015. He also must pay $19,498 in restitution and an additional $465 in fines and fees. He also must pay the $20 per month probation fee.

As part of the probation requirements, Narwick must not consume any alcohol, must submit to regular drug testing and must not have any contact with the victim. His sentenced also included serving four days in jail, with credit for two days. The jail sentenced is reportedly completed.
