Robert William Haldorson

Mr. Robert William Haldorson, 80, of Morris, Ill., passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Walnut Grove in Morris.

Born Aug. 29, 1932, in Coal City, Ill., Bob was a son of the late Charles and Gertrude Howard-Haldorson. He was raised and educated  in the Coal City, Carbon Hill and Wilmington areas, and graduated from WilmingtonHigh School.

On Jan. 6, 1951, Bob married Genevieve Milton in Signal Hill, Califo. She preceded him in death on Jan. 31, 2013.

Bob served in the United States Naval Reserves and worked for Federal Paper Board. Most recently, he held employment as a baliff with the Grundy County Sheriff's Office, a position he greatly enjoyed.

Bob was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morris, and he belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He will be remembered for his love of family, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored.

Survivors include his daughter Brenda (Daniel) Miner of Purcellville, Va.; three grandchildren, Ryan (Molly) Rozich of Austin,Texas, Logan Miner of Vienna, W.V., and Natalie Miner of Purcellville; one great-granddaughter, Sloane Elizabeth Rozich; and brothers and sisters AliceWills, Helen Jensen, Lucille Quayle, Betty Panish, June (Leroy) Hedgecock and Ralph (Lela) Haldorson; and sisters-in-law Betty Haldorson, Phyllis Haldorson and Margaret Haldorson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dr.Robert Haldorson; his wife, Genevieve; brothers Howard, Charles, Raymond, John, Clyde and George; and a sister, Elsie Skubic.

Visitation and video tribute for both Genevieve and Robert Haldorson will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington Street (one block east of Illinois 47) in Morris. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 516 East Jackson St., Morris, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with the Rev. Ed Howe, CR officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Morris.

Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Bob's memory to Immaculate Conception Building Fund, 516 East Jackson St., Morris, Ill., 60450.
