YORKVILLE — On Sunday, Feb. 24, Fox Country Players will host a theatre outing to Drury Lane Theater in Oakbrook, which will include Drury Lane’s lavish brunch at noon, and a matinee performance of Andrew Lloyd Weber’s highly acclaimed musical, “Sunset Boulevard,” at 2 p.m.

“Sunset Boulevard” tells the tale of the faded glory of silent film star Norma Desmond, who is unable to accept the reality of the devastating changes in her life brought about by the “talkies.”

Based on Billy Wilder’s 1950 movie by the same name, the stage production opened on Broadway in 1994, starring Glenn Close and Alan Campbell, and ran for 977 performances. The show won 7 Tony Awards in 1995, including Best Musical, Best Original Score, Best Performance by a Leading Actress, and Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical.

The Drury Lane production of “Sunset Boule-vard” stars Chicago act-ress Christine Sherrill, who recently won rave reviews as the infamous Miss Hannigan in the Paramount Theatre’s production of “Annie.”

Based on a special deeply-discounted group rate, tickets for the outing are priced at $65 per person, and may be purchased online through
