Man sentenced to probation for taking electronics at Pilots

A man was convicted Jan. 29 in Grundy County Circuit Court of a felony charge of retail theft.

Jeffrey L. Aldridge, 42, of Marham, Ill., was sentenced to 30 months probation for the Class 3 felony.

The sentence required him to serve 180 days in jail, but jail sentence is completed.

Aldridge was charged June 27, 2012, by Minooka police with taking possession of merchandise at Pilot Travel Center, 301 N. Ridge Road, Minooka. He reportedly took two Coby MP3 players, two Cobra power inverters and 11 earbuds. The total value of the merchandise was more than $300.

According to court documents, Aldridge must also pay $485 in fines and fees, plus pay the $20 probation fee. He was also ordered to obtain a mental health evaluation and he must not drink alcohol.
