Zachary E. Connor, 24, formerly of the 300 block of Lincoln St., Morris, was indicted Wednesday on one count of aggravated battery, a Class 3 felony, and one count of endangering the life and health of a child, a Class A misdemeanor, Chief Brent Dite said Friday.

Connor, who now resides in Joliet, was arrested Thursday by the Joliet Police Department on a Grundy County warrant from the indictment. He was unable to post bond and is in custody at the Grundy County Jail, according to a press release from the Morris Police Department.

On Nov. 13, 2011, a child was taken to Morris Hospital with extensive life-threatening, non-accidental injuries. Due to the severity of the injuries, the child was airlifted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Ill.

Grundy County State’s Attorney Jason Helland presented the case to the Grand Jury Wednesday. The Grand Jury indicted Connor on the above charges and Judge Robert Marsaglia issued a warrant. His bond was set at $25,000 with 10-percent to apply.

The Morris Police Department, along with the Grundy County State’s Attorney’s Office, were involved in the investigation.
