‘Coping with loss’ class begins March 6

GCVH’s 10-week class series covers several aspects of grief

Grundy Community Volunteer Hospice “Coping with loss” class is a series of 10 sessions, which will start Wednesday evening, March 6 and ends May 8, 2013. The sessions will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m on consecutive Wednesdays.

The class covers many aspects of grief, not just the loss of a loved one through death. Grief can be through a divorce, physical handicap, loss of employment, retiring and aging.

The class is a pre-requisite for anyone interested in becoming a hospice volunteer, but the class is open to everyone in the community.

During the class, students will learn about the hospice concept; death and dying; grief; bereavement; and vommunicating dkills. Certificates will be presented to all who complete the course.

The classes will be held at the Morris Business and Technology Center at 1802 N. Division St., Morris,..  Come to the south side of the building to Door #9, Room 507.
