Lewis University’s The Flyer earns two awards for design

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. — The Flyer, Lewis University’s online student newspaper, won second place in the College Media Association Best of Collegiate Design for their Social Media Main Page Presentation.

The Flyer print staff also received honorable mention in the Feature Page Category for their Radar page, which features pop culture stories geared toward college students.

The CMA represents the people who advise the nation’s collegiate media newspapers, yearbooks, magazines and electronic media. The CMA annually recognizes excellence in student-produced work in visual communication with its Best of Collegiate Design award. Judges included nationally renowned designers from national online print publications.

The national competition was open to student media from colleges and universities. Competitors included universities with enrollments exceeding 30,000 students, media staff exceeding 30 members as well as publications with daily distribution.

Ben Eveloff, assistant professor of communications, is adviser of the online edition. Lisa O’Toole, assistant professor of communications, is adviser of the print edition.
