Nancy J. Akin

Mrs. Charles (Nancy J.) Akin, 82, of Morris, Ill., passed away peacefully Friday evening, Feb. 15, 2013, in Morris.

Born on June 11, 1930, in  Dwight, Ill., the daughter of Miggo and Marjorie Nelson Jensen, Nancy married the love of her life, Charles E. Akin, on Oct. 14, 1978, in Yorkville, Ill.

She was a stay-at-home babysitter for many, many families for several years.
She enjoyed playing the game of golf, following horse racing, and traveling with her husband.

A member of First Christian Church in Morris, she was also a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of Morris American Legion Post #294.

Surviving sre her loving husband of over 34 years and best friend, Charles, and her two daughters, Patti and her husband, Dale, Fitch, and Vicky and her husband, Donny, Terrell, all of Morris; and two sisters, Alma (Len) Kisellus of Deerfield, Ill., and Thora Lohmar of Carbon Hill, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Scott Fitch; and one brother, John Jensen.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at U. C. Davis & Sons Funeral Home Ltd., 301 W. Washington St., Morris, where memorial services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, with the Rev. Scott Zorn of the First Christian Church officiating. Inurnment will follow in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery.

Preferred form of remembrance would be memorial gifts in Nancy's memory directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
