Alvin Johnson

SENECA — Mr. Alvin "Bud" Johnson, 96, of Seneca, Ill., died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Rivershores Care Center.

Alvin “Bud” was born June 6, 1916, in Morris to Louis and Anna (Enger) Johnson. He married the love of his life Elizabeth “Claire” Irwin on June 17, 1939, in her parent’s home in Seneca. She preceded him in death on May 21, 2011, after 72 years together.

He farmed in La Salle and Grundy County, retiring in 1976. They then moved to Seneca and built their dream home. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Seneca since 1939, where he enjoyed many church family friends.

He is survived by his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; and five brothers.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at First United Methodist Church of Seneca. Rev. Carolyn Lukasick will officiate.

Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at First United Methodist Church of Seneca.

Pallbearers will be Bill, Mike, Kett, Steve, and Robert Johnson, Ron Flynn, David Blome and Jon Anderson.

Memorials may be directed to donor’s choice.
