Please stop complaining about the government

To the Editor:

Stop complaining about the government!

I’m sick and tired of hearing about the city building, the band shell, etc., etc.  Everywhere I go – work, social events, family functions – everyone is complaining about the government.

The federal, state, and local governments are taxing us to death, spending our money foolishly, and trying to control every aspect of our lives, but all anyone wants to do is complain.

We The People are to blame for each and every one of these problems. We The People hire and fire the politicians who make these decisions. We The People have been asleep at the wheel for the last 50-plus years.

Our country is falling apart right in front of our eyes and We The People continue to sit home on Election Day.

We just re-elected a president who has put us so far in debt our children’s children’s children’s children, etc., etc., will carry the burden until the end of time.

It states in our constitution that we have a right to bear arms, yet we live in a state that doesn’t allow us that right.

We live in a city that has almost doubled our property taxes over the last 15 years, yet we continue to re-elect the same politicians who have put us in these positions.

I ask: who is to blame?  We The People are to blame, and We The People have got to stop blaming the government for our problems and start taking responsibility for our actions and lack of actions!

Many people say, I don’t know who to vote for, or my vote doesn’t count, why should I bother? I say, educate yourself, read about the candidates, and ask questions.

Yes, your vote does count. The bible says in Luke 12:7 that even the hairs on our head are numbered – we are that important!

Why bother? WE are the people. This is OUR country – WE The People – it doesn’t belong to the government.

WE are the bosses. WE hire and fire. Election Day belongs to US, not the government.

Do your job as the boss – vote, and stop complaining.
