Seneca FFA sending six members to state

Group will compete at Urbana in April

SENECA — FFA members from the five sections in Illinois competed Wednesday, March 13,  in the District Proficiency Awards Interviews at Joliet Junior College.

As result, the Seneca FFA chapter is sending six winners on to the State FFA Proficiency Interviews in Urbana in April. Winning students and their respective categories are: Kassidy Maierhofer, agricultural processing; Alex Autry, placement equine science; Michael Bernhard, Oil crop production; Brian Bergeson, grain production Placement; Loren Fisk, poultry production; and Molly Novotney, specialty crop production.

The competition was comprised of the section winners competing in each of the 50 FFA Award areas based on students’ Supervised Agricultural Experience Programs.

The contestants are judged on their knowledge through the interview, accounting skills via a record book, organization and handling and care of finances.
