Delores E. Beasley

Ms. Delores E. Beasley, 76, of Morris, Ill., passed away Thursday afternoon, March 28, 2013, at Morris Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, at Fruland Funeral Home, 121 W. Jefferson St., Morris, with  Pastor Steve Papillon of Fox River Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow at Plattville Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will also be Wednesday, from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Born June 5, 1936, in Minooka, she was the daughter of Earl and Charlotte (Torkelson) Beasley. Delores was born with cerebral palsy and was cared for by her grandparents, John and Lena Torkelson, after her parents’ deaths, and then by a special aunt, Lorraine Torkelson, for many years. Many relatives and friends made her life happier.

Delores’ family would like to extend a special “thanks” to all who cared for her at Morris Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center for almost 16 years, as well as at Joliet Area Community Hospice for the last two months.

Ms. Beasley is survived by a brother, LaVerne (Mae) Beasley of Morris; a niece, Carol Jean Beasley of Morris; and an aunt, Maxine Varness of Morris.

Preceding her in death were her parents and one niece, Linda Sue Beasley.

Delores was a member of Plattville Lutheran Church.
