Richard D. Cochran

Richard D. “Dick” Cochran, 76, of Morris, Ill., passed away Saturday morning, March 30, 2013, in Morris Hospital.

Born Oct. 30, 1936, in Aurora, Neb., the son of Clay and Nola Bryan Cochran, he proudly served his country in the U. S. Army.

Dick married Deanna Beck on July 9, 1963, in Morris.

He was employed with Sears Bank and Trust, located in the Sears Tower in downtown Chicago, for over 20 years. With his wife and family, they moved to Mazon to make their home in 1983, and from there they moved into Morris and resided on E. Washington Street. Dick then entered the employment of Weits Restaurant in downtown Morris in the mid-1980s, and assisted with the catering food service that the restaurant provides.

Dick was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan and Chicago Bears fan.

Surviving are his son, Scott Cochran, and his wife, Carol, of Palatine, Ill.; three  grandchildren, Christine Engelking, Sean Sieg and Tyler Howell; two great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Melanie Engelking; along with several nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, on Dec. 17, 1998; and one daughter, Susan Wynn Cochran, on May 23, 2006.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, at U. C. Davis & Sons Funeral Home Ltd., 301 W. Washington St., Morris, where funeral services will be conducted at noon on Thursday, April 4, with the Rev. Steve Larson of the First Baptist Church officiating.

Interment with full military honors conducted by the Morris Color Guard will follow in Mazon - Brookside Cemetery in Mazon, Ill.
