Mary Elizabeth McIntosh

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth (Thomas) McIntosh, 90, of Morris Ill., and Las Vegas, Nev., and formerly of Dwight, Ill., passed away Friday, April 5, 2013, at All Care Group Home in Las Vegas, Nev.

Born Nov. 12, 1922, in Hamilton County, she was a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth York-Thomas. Mary was raised and educated in Hamilton County. She was employed at the Dwight Correctional Center as a nurse until her retirement.

Survivors include her two sons, George (Star) McIntosh of Las Vegas, Nev., and Paul (Sherry) McIntosh of Verona, Ill.,; five grandchildren, Chris McIntosh of Gardner, Ill., Scott McIntosh of Las Vegas, Kendall (Lori) McIntosh of Lee’s Summit, Mo., Tymara (David) Ehrler of Norton, Ohio, and Alana (Joshua) Doss of Joliet, Ill.; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Leone Pollard of Morristown, Tenn; as well as numerous, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Herman; one brother, Edgar Thomas; one sister, Lucille Thomas; and one grandson, William Herman McIntosh.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 13, from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington St., Morris (one block east of Illinois 47). Pastor Caleb Counterman of the Faith Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Dwight.

In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Mary’s memory to her family for distribution to local charities of their choosing.
