Morris softball loses to Willowbrook

Erica Gualandi and Kelly Kolotka shared the pitching duties in a 10-1, non-conference loss on the road at Willowbrook.

Taya Torkelson hit a solo homer for the Redskins, though Leah Lines and Alex Kjellesvik doubled.

In the frosh-soph game, Morris won 8-7. At the plate, Emma Thomas had a hit, two runs scored and an RBI; Taylor Cole had a hit, an RBI and run scored; Emily Moore had a triple with two runs scored and Mackenzie Hanson had a hit and two RBI in the sixth inning.

Laurel Harper was the winning pitcher. She went 6 2/3 innings allowing four hits and a walk while striking out four. Madison Colasanti also pitched 1/3 of an inning.


Minooka 8,

Wheaton Warrenville South 1

Meghan Quirk was the winning pitcher. She carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning before yielding one hit. She struck out 10.

At the platen Jordan Larsen had a single, double, two runs scored and two RBI, Jackie Lilek had two singles, a walk, three runs scored and an RBI and Sara Novak had a single, double and three RBI.

Abby Horrie was the winning pitcher, going all seven innings for the victory. She allowed six hits and three walks while striking out 10.

At the plate, Sophie Barna was 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and three RBI; Lexi Posing was 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored; Emily Foley was 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI and Maranda Residori was 2-for-3 with a double, run scored and two runs scored.

In the second game, Emily Foley was the winning pitcher. She allowed five hits and walked one while striking out three.

At the plate, Foley was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and two RBI; Posing was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI; Emily Hopwood was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI and Ally Matthews had a triple and two runs scored.

Kristine Zitt threw a one-hitter in recording the run-rule victory. She walked three and struck out seven.

At the plate, Lauren Tollefson was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI and Caroline Erickson was 3-for-3 with a triple and an RBI.

In the second game, Shelby Hoody was the winning pitcher. Megan Diclimenti and Melissa Schmidt had two hits each on offense.
